Some of the most valuable information in our lives disappears when a conversation ends: an idea, a decision, a detail we wish we could remember. Pocket helps us hold onto it.

We’ve built an AI-powered device that captures real-world conversations and turns them into searchable transcripts, summaries and next steps. Backed by Accel and Y Combinator (W26), we’ve already sold 500,000 devices.

Our ambition goes beyond recording. We believe the things you learn, discuss and experience can become useful context for the AI tools you already use, and for products that don’t exist yet.

About the Role

Pocket starts with a small device, three microphones and one button. The experience around it is much bigger: pairing, recording, reading a summary, finding an old conversation and deciding whether to trust what AI tells you.

You’ll shape that experience across our mobile, desktop and web apps, website and device interactions. You’ll work directly with Akshay, our CEO and a designer himself, and our founding product designer. Expect to move between rough ideas, working prototypes and the details of production.

What You’ll Own

• Customer experiences across Pocket’s hardware and software surfaces, from first setup to daily use.

• New interaction patterns for searching personal memory, checking uncertain summaries and correcting AI mistakes.

• Prototypes with real data and working behavior, not just static screens.

• The craft that makes the product feel coherent: typography, motion, hierarchy, interaction and platform-native details.

• Close collaboration with engineering to take designs into production and improve them after launch.

What We’re Looking For

• A portfolio of shipped work that shows strong visual taste, thoughtful interactions and attention to the final details.

• A builder’s approach: you make something, try it and learn from how it behaves.

• An AI-assisted workflow, using tools such as Paper, Figma Make, v0, Cursor and Claude Code to explore and prototype.

• Confidence designing across mobile, desktop and web, with a clear sense of what should feel native on each.

• Ownership, sound judgment and the willingness to change your mind when the evidence changes.

Bonus Points

You have built a consumer product from scratch, designed hardware experiences, or bring strong motion design or front-end skills.
