Account Supervisor – Media AOR (Integrated Account Management)

About the Role

H/L is seeking an Account Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations and strategic integration for a major media account. While H/L serves as the Media Agency of Record (AOR), this role sits at the intersection of media, creative strategy, and production. We are looking for a well-rounded agency account leader who brings proven, hands-on experience across both media planning and creative execution.

In this role, you will champion client relationships across multiple lines of business, mentor a dedicated account team, and partner with the Group Media Director to run the cross-functional engine connecting media strategy, creative workflows, production timelines, and performance analytics.

If you are a strategic thinker with a high EQ who bridges the gap between creative storytelling and media performance, and excels at building collaborative, trust-based teams - we want to hear from you.

Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid) | Remote friendly for U.S.-based candidates

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Media AOR Management

  • Integrated Client Leadership: Serve as a trusted strategic partner across multiple client lines of business, managing senior relationships, aligning on scopes and budgets, and proactively presenting high-level POVs to unlock brand growth.
  • Media & Creative Integration: Act as the strategic connective tissue between media planning, analytics, and creative development, aligning campaign roadmaps, messaging hierarchies, and marketing calendars.
  • Performance-Driven Strategy: Leverage dashboard analytics, audience insights, and campaign KPIs to evaluate performance, optimize media allocations, and deliver creative recommendations (e.g., dynamic messaging iterations, asset refreshes, and test-and-learn initiatives).
  • Financial Oversight: Manage account profitability, budget tracking, client billing, and reconciliation across production and media workstreams.

Integrated Workflow & Team Leadership

  • End-to-End Campaign Delivery: Direct the full lifecycle of integrated campaigns across digital, paid social, broadcast/video, OOH, and emerging channels - from writing creative briefs, to leading  kickoffs, managing creative reviews, and directing client presentations.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Partner seamlessly across internal departments (Media Planners/Buyers, Creative Directors, Copywriters/Art Directors, and Producers) as well as external creative partners to ensure work is strategically aligned and delivered on time.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Direct, train, and mentor direct reports (AE, AC). Establish clear goals, delegate effectively, and foster an empathetic, supportive team environment centered on growth and accountability.
  • Process Excellence: Optimize daily account workflows across media, creative, and production teams to maintain high output quality and operational efficiency.

Key Qualifications

  • Agency Account Experience: 5–7 years of agency experience with a proven background managing both creative production and media workstreams; at least 1 year leading/managing a team in an Account Supervisor (or equivalent) capacity.
  • Dual-Track Acumen (Creative + Media): Strong familiarity with media planning, buying principles, and digital platform analytics, paired with experience in creative development, brief writing, and production workflows.
  • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Exceptional self-awareness, active listening skills, and the ability to read the room, navigate complex client dynamics, and lead with empathy.
  • Multi-Channel Scope: Demonstrated track record executing complex campaigns across broadcast, OOH, digital, paid social, and emerging media channels.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to synthesize complex performance metrics and creative performance into clear, actionable client POVs and optimization roadmaps.
  • Communication &  Presence: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with confidence leading client meetings.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

The Ideal Candidate

  • The Integrated Account Leader: Equally comfortable debating creative concept viability and dissecting full-funnel media performance metrics.
  • High-EQ & People-Centric: Empathetic, intuitive, and adept at reading the room, building authentic rapport, and creating cohesion across distinct creative, media, and client personalities.
  • Strategic & Curious: Driven by data insights, intuitive problem-solving, and a desire to continuously test and innovate on client business.
  • Composed & Decisive: Calm, level-headed, and structured under fast-paced agency deadlines, projecting steady confidence to clients and internal teams.
  • Collaborative Bridge-Builder: Skilled at bringing cross-functional teams (Media, Creative, Production) together to achieve shared client goals.

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide an individual response to every candidate.
