Manufacturing is one of the most important industries in the world, yet much of the technology supporting it hasn't kept pace.

We're building a fundamentally different future for manufacturing software.

Fulcrum is evolving from a traditional manufacturing software company into an AI-native company. We're not interested in simply adding AI features to existing systems. We're rethinking how work gets done, building products that can take on increasingly complex work themselves and give manufacturers capabilities that weren't possible before.

That same thinking shapes how we work internally. We believe small teams of exceptional people, equipped with powerful tools and the freedom to make decisions, can accomplish extraordinary things.

We're looking for people who are naturally curious, take ownership, and aren't satisfied doing something a certain way just because that's how it's always been done. People who like figuring things out, building things, challenging assumptions, and continuously expanding what they're capable of.

There's a lot we're still figuring out, and that's part of the opportunity. If you're energized by meaningful problems, ambitious goals, and the chance to help build something genuinely different, you'll find plenty to do here.

About the Role

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative who is competitive, naturally curious, and excited to build a career in sales while helping transform one of the world's most important industries.

At Fulcrum, sales development is about more than booking meetings. You'll be reaching out to manufacturers, often speaking directly with business owners and operational leaders who have spent decades running their companies. Your job is to earn their attention, understand their challenges, and create conversations that make them reconsider what's possible.

This is a high-activity, primarily outbound role where persistence matters. But effort alone isn't enough. The best SDRs at Fulcrum combine the discipline to make hundreds of calls with the curiosity to learn how businesses actually operate and the judgment to make every conversation better.

You'll have clear goals, coaching, and support, but we also expect you to take ownership of your growth, experiment with new approaches, and find ways to improve without waiting to be told.

What You'll Do
  • Prospect into manufacturing businesses, primarily through high-volume outbound cold calling, to identify and create new sales opportunities.
  • Learn how manufacturers operate, including their workflows, challenges, existing systems, and business priorities.
  • Engage business owners and operational leaders in thoughtful conversations that uncover problems and create interest in what Fulcrum can do.
  • Qualify prospects and generate high-quality meetings and pipeline for Account Executives.
  • Consistently meet or exceed activity, meeting, and pipeline goals while maintaining high standards for opportunity quality.
  • Develop your ability to handle objections, navigate skepticism, and communicate value clearly and confidently.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to understand what makes a strong opportunity and improve the quality of your handoffs.
  • Test new messaging, prospecting strategies, and outreach approaches, using results and feedback to continuously improve.
  • Use AI and other tools to research accounts, improve outreach, analyze your performance, and find more effective ways to work.
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of prospect interactions, pipeline activity, and next steps.
  • Actively seek coaching, listen to calls, practice your skills, and take responsibility for improving your performance.
  • Share what you're learning from prospects to help the broader team better understand our customers and market.
  • Who You Are
  • Industrious and self-motivated. You have a natural drive to get things done. You don't need someone constantly pushing you, and you look for ways to make progress even when things get difficult.
  • Competitive and resilient. You enjoy working toward ambitious goals, can handle rejection, and don't let a difficult day derail your momentum.
  • Naturally curious. You ask thoughtful questions, genuinely want to understand how businesses work, and are interested in learning about an industry that may be entirely new to you.
  • A fast learner. You absorb feedback, apply what you learn, and are motivated by seeing yourself improve.
  • Comfortable with hard work. You understand that success in outbound sales requires consistency, high activity, preparation, and the willingness to do things that aren't always easy.
  • A strong communicator. You can connect with different types of people, listen carefully, and adapt your approach based on the conversation.
  • Resourceful and adaptable. You don't get stuck when something isn't working. You try a different approach, learn from the results, and keep moving.
  • Excited by technology. You're curious about AI and willing to experiment with tools that help you learn faster, work smarter, and become more effective.
  • Accountable. You take responsibility for your results, follow through on commitments, and care about the quality of opportunities you create.
  • A team player. You want to succeed personally, but you also care about making the people around you better.
  • You don't need to come in knowing everything about manufacturing or having years of sales experience. We're more interested in your potential, work ethic, curiosity, and willingness to learn.

    What Success Looks Like
  • You consistently meet or exceed your activity, meeting, and pipeline targets.
  • You become increasingly confident and knowledgeable in conversations with manufacturing business owners and operational leaders.
  • You create opportunities that turn into meaningful sales conversations, not just meetings that fill a calendar.
  • You actively improve your sales skills through practice, coaching, experimentation, and feedback.
  • You independently identify what's working, what's not, and what you can do differently.
  • You use new tools and technologies to become more effective rather than relying entirely on established processes.
  • You contribute ideas, share what you learn, and help raise the standard for the entire SDR team.
  • Salary range & benefits
  • $50,000–$60,000 base // $122,000–$132,000 OTE (uncapped) + equity
  • 401(k) matching after 90 days — immediate vesting
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Wellbeing benefits and perks
  • Unlimited vacation policy with required minimums
  • Cell phone & internet plan coverage
  •   This role is open to candidates located in the U.S. and authorized to work here. We’re not able to offer visa sponsorship or consider international applicants at this time. We're looking for go-getters who have a passion for helping small businesses and want to take an active role in transforming the manufacturing industry.   Candidates should be able to commute to our Minneapolis office or be willing to relocate.

We're not here to make incremental improvements to the way things have always been done. We're here to rethink what's possible.

That takes people who are curious, ambitious, and excited to figure things out that haven't been figured out before.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to build with you.
